Egypt's outdoor advertising spending increases by 53% year-on-year in 2024

Real estate advertisers have become the largest spenders on advertising for the third consecutive year

Outdoor advertising expenditure sets a new record: Egyptian companies spent 6.3 billion Egyptian pounds on outdoor advertising (OOH) in 2024, a 53% increase from 4.2 billion Egyptian pounds in 2023.
The number of outdoor advertisers increased by 23% year-on-year, reaching 1700, and the number of billboards increased by 26.6% year-on-year, reaching 40900 yuan. Real estate advertisers have become the largest area of outdoor advertising spending for the third consecutive year, accounting for 60% of outdoor advertising spending in 2024. The inventory of digital outdoor advertising has doubled, making advertising campaigns more dynamic.
Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) remain in second place: FMCG advertisers - affordable and in high demand necessities such as household essentials - have ranked second for the second consecutive year, with a market share of 9%. Following closely behind are the hotel and financial services industries (each accounting for 4%), as well as the telecommunications industry (3%).
The companies with the largest expenditures: Talaat Moustafa Group, a local real estate giant, holds the largest share of real estate industry expenditures, Edita and L'Oreal are the companies with the largest expenditures in the fast-moving consumer goods sector, and Egypt Telecom is the company with the highest outdoor advertising expenditures among telecommunications companies in the country.
Data from DOOH advertising in Egypt shows that advertisers' investments have received higher value. The total number of displays on outdoor billboards (an indicator used to measure ad views) increased by 8.8% year-on-year in 2024, reaching 154.2 billion views.
This indicator has become crucial: the rapid growth of outdoor advertising in India has led to "increased visual congestion, making it harder for brands to stand out on the streets," and the Egyptian DOOH related advertising company has proven that "obtaining reliable data and insights is crucial for navigating this constantly changing landscape."
